Its not the Chinese fishermen who toss the torso of the shark into the sea after finning the animal, but the Indonesian/Polynesian (and others) fishermen who get paid for the fins by the dealers. It is the money that drives them to behave that way, and that money comes from consumers in the Chinese communities. Also, I don't think many humans will care about "cruelty" to animals; if they don't see it, its not on their minds. Killing and raising animals for commercial consumption will somehow create inhuman treatment somewhere along the line, all of us are guilty. We just try what we can and live within our conscience. Veganism is the solution, but how many of us are able to? This issue has crossed my mind numerous times, but I love meat. Maybe one day.

Had dinner at this Thai restaurant in Funan Centre, the food is very good but expensive. Heard from my wife that Thaksin makan in this restaurant when he's in Singapore.
