Six men struggled for more than two hours trying to reel the stingray in but it was in vain. A child and his friends had to wade into the water to drag the stingray to shore. The men wanted to release the stingray after taking photos of it, but it had died.

When Ah RUN was young, he went for several fishing trips and the biggest fish that he witnessed being caught was a marlin near Tioman seas.

Here's why RUN is sharing the above article. On his last trip. RUN saw a big mother stingray struggling after being caught.
When the stingray was almost brought onboard, the stingray suddenly gave birth to 3 baby stingrays. Apparently, the mother stingray knew her time was up, and forced herself to quickly induce the birth of her babies. The baby stingrays just pop out near the mother's tail area.

It was a touching scene, I remember that the angler promptly removed the hooks on board and released the mother and remaining babies back to the sea.

RUN is not a saint. I am not a vegetarian and i still take shark's fins but since then, i also not keen to go for anymore fishing trips.

I read somewhere that when fishes are hooked they don't feel pain because they do not have pain senses or neurons. I winder if this is true.

The beauty of nature.

Ya, life changing experience.
See already also feel very touched.
Anyway i always sea sick, so good to give those fishing trips a miss.
There was even once i dropped my spectacles into the sea when i was pulling the fishing line.
So i am fated not to do fishing.

I just like to go to the sea and sleep.

The stingray died from exhaustion, shock and lack of oxygen. Pasir Ris water is known to have low oxygen level.
Imagine being dragged through the shallow water for 2 hours. What is more painful?

STOMPer DT was touched to learn about a man who offered $100 for this huge stingray, which took three hours to reel in, to be released back into the sea at East Coast Park on Apr 23.

The man had initially made an offer of $80 but was rejected.Said the STOMPer:"This happened yesterday night (Apr 23) at around 11pm.

"I was cycling at the East Coast beach and saw this guy who had just caught a huge stingray.A small crowd soon gathered around taking pictures and admiring the beautiful fish.

"I heard it took him almost three hours to reel in this monster."Just when I was about to leave, a man in his 60s offered the guy $80 for the fish but he declined.

"At first I thought this man wanted to buy this live fish for himself."To my surprise, he counter-offered the guy $100 and asked for the fish to be released back to the sea, which I am glad they did.

"I am truly touched by this man's gesture of goodwill. Kudos!!!!"
