This observation from your model is so similar to what is happening in real life. In the past, the elites were providing good care for the masses so there were less complaints even though they also zapped some individuals into oblivion. However, now, the masses felt that the elites are doing things only for their own personal agenda, with little help given to those affected by the new system. Yet, they continue "zapping" those dissenting voices. If this goes on, the end result will be the same as this forum. The difference is that it may be your intention to end the forum this way, I am sure the elites in real life are hoping to cling on for as long as possible.
This forum is a microcosm of PAP-led Singapore: arbitrary power in the hands of the elite few, limited democracy and rights for the common folk, huge disparity in status and wealth between the haves and have-nots, the latter (vast majority) exhibiting classic repressive traits of learned helplessness, exploitative leadership by those at the top, money as the measure of man. In other words, a jungle where every man looks out only for himself, where might is right.
It is a social experiment, and to the extent that Singapore rises or falls as a nation, this forum will survive or fail.
If the majority of Sinkies choose to behave like boiled frogs and vote for the status quo election after election while quibbling about the 'trustworthiness' and 'confrontational' stance of opposition politicians who dare to put their livelihoods on the line, then I don't see Sammyboy changing for the better either. If, on the other hand, Sinkies wake up one day and seize their right to Occupy Singapore, thus ushering in an era of democracy and enlightened leadership, you can be sure Sammyboy will be transformed into an equally democratic and enlightened forum worthy of the visionary forebears of Tumasik.
The choice is yours: remake Singapore – and Sammyboy – or let both rot to an ignominious death. This world waits for no one: create your own destiny or let destiny decimate you; join the River of Life or be marooned on Death Island.
