Now that oil has dropped to $80, why are prices still sky high?

Re: Oil Price Collapses

Dunno about the petrol companies.

But I know PTC will not reduce tpt fares. They have zero honour.

Let all Singaporeans remember these pap policies...when crude oil price goes up, petrol price goes up immediately, electricity and bus fares went up quickly.

When crude oil price goes down, pap drags its feet to reduce prices.

Crude oil price was $110 and petrol was $2.11 per litre. Now crude oil is $76 and petrol price is $2.05. The reduction is minimal and grudgingly down

Re: Oil Price Collapses

The shit times always carry the oil companys' explanations about why oil prices and petrol prices hardly co-relate when oil prices fall but not when prices go up.

The ST shd do its job abd do some journalistic reporting and show that when prices go up they were very quick to raise petrol, electricity prices and bus fares

ST is not a really good paper so thats why by its own admission readership has fallen.

To redeem its bad reputation, the ST must send a credible reporter to interview CASE and the petrol companies

Shit deserves better than a comparison with ST.

hahaha..you are right. Shit has a useful function. ST has a destructive function. I wonder how can the reporters and editors sleep well at night when they know that they didn't report the truth.

My friends in the bunker trade are all super worried now. Many companies closing shop. Our status as a bunkering hub will go down the longkang. No more credit given. Cash is king.

My friends in many industries are worried not because of oil price but because of pap's poor performance. SG is in for big trouble. The pap cant continue to get GIC and TH to use CPF funds to prop up GLCs and TLCs.

NOL had to sell its Alexander Rd Building so that the results didn't appear so bad. It's tantamount to selling NOL's key assets. It now leases back the building from the buyer. That increases annual operational costs

SIA had to sell Aus Virgin to make its result look decent.

TH sold SPC a cash cow so that the mgmt. reaped big bonus.

Is this the responsible way for pap to run GIC and TH?

The oil and gas sector is not doing well. In fact, it's expected to get worse before it gets better. Your friends are right to be worried. I foresee many of the industry workers will be retrenched

In JB, Shell V-Power 97 grade fuel had already dropped to RM2.55/litre since last week. Before the price drop, it was RM2.85/litre.
