Perhaps MRT had improved, no?

Got up the MRT in City Hall Station traveling towards Jurong at 7.45am, was expecting "sardine" situation as its very peak hour at that time. Was pleasantly surprised contrary to most reports of squeezing, sardine can, smelly, noisy etc etc it was non of that. Perhaps MRT had improved, no?

I have a photo to prove

Jurong is an unpopular place to work & live. At that time most of the people living there are trying to get out of Jurong to get to work & not go there.

Jurong (East) was a nice place, tranquil and just out of reach of the polluted Jurong West.

Now, it is just a clusterfuck mess. The train station platforms are a clusterfuck mess. No more sprawling green fields between IMM and the MRT station.

Also, when the hospital is completed, expect to hear a lot of ambulance sirens. I hope you enjoy how Project 6.9 Million has increased your land value.

Long... long time ago I used worked in Jurong & even did my basic NS there. Back then it was an ulu place that no one wanted to live or work in, but it was a quiet place. I don't think time has improved that place.

School kids need to reach school by 745am. At 745am if you see crowded MRT, its not due to school kids. Conversely if MRT is not crowded at 745am, it means you just got lucky, maybe a bunch of trains arrived with a couple of minutes of each other and cleared the passengers quickly.

I'm sure its not difficult to hop onto a sardine-packed train filled with office ladies at rush hour, if you're into that kind of thing.

I have worked in the WEST & journeyed to the WEST often...getting on points at Jurong East MRT Station & Boon Lay Station...from an industrial 'outpost' to what the place is today...the congestion had got worse, in the past there was congestion...now it is bad...really bad!!

I have noticed too that during certain "off peak" time...the trains are packed too, not like before, you can find a seat, at Interchanges or what we call connecting stations....human traffic ( not trafficking..ha ha ha..maybe?) is heavy...but RUSH HOUR....that is another story.

Have they improved...to be fair , yes!, they are upgrading the facilities,...

it's undeniable that the circle line has provided alternate routes and transfer hubs towards and away from the city center. for example, much of east-west traffic transfer at paya lebar to go on circle line to serangoon to catch north east line and bishan to catch north south line. alternatively, they go on circle line to get to dhoby ghaut where north south line and north east line meet. west-east traffic transfer at buona vista to get on circle line and outram to get on north east line. without the circle line, the only two transfer stations for east-west to meet north-south were at city hall and raffles place....there were no other choices, thus the bottlenecking and human jams.
