Hi
Many Chinese Singaporeans have done the same to the minority races by refusing the speak English at the workplace.

English is the working language of the country. When the Chinese insist on speaking Mandarin, it results in the marginalisation of the minority groups which causes divisions within the citizenry.
He is quite right! A lot of Sinkie Chinese insists on using Mandarin even though English is the language of commerce.

Nobody talks that way to an honorable member of the forum and gets away with it. You have been banned for 24 hours. It will give you time to cool off.

If you carry on with your nonsense tomorrow, you're gone for good.

But what can you do if he comes back with a new nick repeatedly?

It takes me 5 seconds to delete ALL the posts of any member.

I have no problems with different viewpoints but there is no need to be uncivilized.

Same here, in fact just yesterday some of my colleague was surprised i'm from singapore, they always thought that I was from china. It's amazing how many languages you can learn when you are not in Singapore.

I speak Mandarin to the Tiongs all the time. I am effectively bilingual (multilingual if you include other languages), so faster communication = more things get done without mishaps. You also don't have to put up with the truncated Chinglish from some of them.

In fact, the Tiongs themselves have marveled at my proficiency, they find it unusual of most Sinkies, no thanks to the fucked up education system, especially when it comes to teaching languages.

[h=1]PRC SUPERVISOR AT WHITESANDS FOODCOURT BULLYING SG ELDERLY[/h]

Dear The Real Singapore,

I dropped by Whitesands Shopping Mall in
Pasir Ris today for my dinner at the foodcourt located at level 3.
Sadly, I witnessed a disturbing incident and I am rather appalled by it.
Here’s my account.

If I’m not mistaken, the mall management
engaged a cleaning agency to provide cleaning services to the foodcourt
there. The cleaners deployed are mostly local senior citizens with
perhaps a few foreigners to make up for the numbers. There is however
one particular foreign cleaner, presumably a PRC judging from the
accent, who displayed a considerable lack of professionalism in my
opinion.

Looking at his attire alone, I’m going
to have to assume he’s a supervisor or someone holding an authority over
the other cleaners there. Apparently, I noticed he is verbally abrasive
towards the local elderly cleaners often chiding them loudly in full
view of the foodcourt crowd.

I can’t help but to register the very
prejudiced tone this PRC cleaner directs to the poor elderly cleaners
with messages somewhat reflecting anti-Singaporean views. Irrespective
of the context surrounding the displeasure from the PRC cleaner, I
personally find that such a demeanor is uncalled for and highly
disrespectful especially when he’s working with a group of hardworking
senior citizens on our very soil. No elderly ought to be treated this
way and worst still from a foreigner who runs them down incessantly.

I also gathered from other stall owners
from the foodcourt that this PRC cleaner has been acting like this
frequently and I seriously think this is unacceptable if his behaviour
continues to go unchecked at this rate.

So, I’m counting on this medium to make
the voice of the silent elderly cleaners heard here. Hope you can help
to get in touch with the cleaning agency and urge them to look into
this. The name of the cleaning agency and a short description of the PRC
cleaner are provided below. My apologies for the limited data as this
is what I could collect. Thanks for helping.

Cleaning Agency: JonMach

Description of PRC Cleaner: Short and
stout-looking with a distinctive loud voice. He’s the only PRC there and
most likely holding a supervisory role

Thank you for highlighting this.

Let's be vigilant and look out for practices that discriminate against Singaporeans in SG.

Don't forget that all these happen because of pap's negligence and failure

What I had observed is some effectively-bilingual PRC-haters working-class singaporeans purposely lie to the PRCs that they totally cannot speak mandarin and can only speak english to irritate them.
English is the working language here, so why should I bend back to accommodate the Ah Tiongs. Why the hell did we have them here when they are not comfortable in our working language?

I had came across many of my colleagues and people from my religious organistion, in our daily conversation we often converse in largely mandarin and english but I noticed when during our lunchtime, when these PRC-haters sporeans see a PRC stall-holder, they purposely speak in english to them to provoke them and they will lie they cannot speak Mandarin. (But Linpeh know they can speak mandarin fluently but they just want to purposely lie to irritate the PRCs).
These folks should be applauded for doing their little bit to make life miserable for the Ah Tiongs. The Ah Tiongs can learn English or go home. What talent do these Ah Tiongs bring when they are selling street food?

But not the majority of sporean-chinese behave this way towards the PRCs. Only some, those PRC-haters sporean-chinese mainly fall into the late-30s to 50s working-class BILINGUAL sporean-chinese.
We need more sinkees to make life miserable for the PATANs.

Ironically those elite wealthy pure-english-educated sporean-chinese are PRO-PRCs and PRO-China, that's why whenever we see media reports of wealthy elite pure-english-educated sporean-chinese donating money to overseas, they always donate to China. It's very very seldom to see the elite wealthy pure-english-educated sporean-chinese donate money to Sri Lanka/Indonesia/Bangladesh/India/Filippines/Laos/Cambodia/Malaysia etc etc.
Because it is the middle and working class that are facing the adverse impact of the influx of PATANs.

Another thing, I found many local-indians and local-malays have very strong discrimintion against PRCs too.
That's a good thing.
