MARION - A Marion family has dropped their inquest request into the suspicious death of their son who died in his Singapore apartment last year. They say they lost confidence in the court process.

Shane Todd's parents tell us they believe their son was murdered saying his death was covered up to make it appear he committed suicide. 32 year-old Todd had worked for the state-run Institute of Microeconomics in Singapore - and was found dead just days after quitting his job.

His parents, Mary and Rick Todd, told us their eldest son was working with Galium Nitride technology - and his life was threatened when he refused to turn the technology over for military use. When a suicide note was discovered which contained inaccuracies, even mentioning family related events that never occurred, the Todd's said they knew their son was murdered.

The Todd family is currently trying to get back to Montana after leaving the court proceedings saying they will turn to the court of public opinion. We spoke with Shane Todd's youngest brother via Facebook message and he tells us: "During Tuesday's court session, our entire family walked out of the court. This process is a complete joke."

According to the Wall Street Journal, the inquest into the cause of death will continue until May 28th.

The PAP government just don't want any US sanctions on technology transfer. The parents could just kick up a big fuss with the representatives and ask that a US does its own investigation on the death and the technology transfer.
