Actually what makes me look back at the article is the news of Japan Rail (JR) making inroads into Singapore.

I guess whichever the ultimate consortium makeup, has to come up with the "magic" to sweeten the bid for the job.

Thanks for sharing this article. Reading through it, it seems like many of the points are still valid today.
In fact, with the HSR (to KL and plan to Bangkok in future) and the upgrade of Senai airport, especially with AirAsia being a dominant low-cost carrier in the region, the situation is more favorable for Oriental Land now than 6-7 years back.
Together with the Ferry Service from Puteri Harbour to Indonesia, and the success of Gentiing's Universal Studios and Legoland. The critical mass market tourists from SEA countries could be met. The 2 existing theme park could compliment Disneyland nicely.

It's not an unlikely situation now. Hope the Election results could be favorable enough to entice them to make Nusajaya Disneyland a reality.

Just heard Najib saying a vote for other than bn will see jb plans dissipate

It's called scare-mongering to get the Johor voters to vote for BN in Johor. But for those who follow the news from the Internet, we also know DAP & PKR are pro-business. Ini Kalilah! (This is it!)

Yah... But what does Anwar mean exactly when he says that Iskandar will not be business as usual?

He could be talking about stopping corruption between the local government and certain rich business people.

A lot of people supporting BN have a lot to lose financially if PKR wins. Gov projects will be awarded via open tender, unnecessary "payments" will be stopped, public services should not be privatize, etc.

Having done business across a few industries in SG, I can assure you that open tenders some times are not very open. There is a clause in tender documents that state the project need not be awarded to the lowest bidder.

So what does Anwar mean when he says that business is not be us usual? it means the coffee money may have to be paid to someone else, instead of BN ppl. As to who the someone else is, I shall leave it to your imagination.

One reminder... When Chen Shui Bian come into power, the ppl of Taiwan thought it would bring in a new era of clean politics. But as it turned out, his regime turned out to be just as corrupted or even more than the KMT.

My point is... you can trust no one but yourself.

Was he not part of the "Establishment". 2nd-in-Command no less. He could not wait to take over the reins. Decided to stab his Boss in the back..... Backfired...... So he comes over now as being a whiter than white light!!! "Leopards do not lose their spots". That said, is there such thing as an "incorruptible" politician..........??????

Change may not mean change for the better. It might mean change for the worse. It may not mean better investment climate. It might even mean investors stop and re evaluate before jumping in. Any changes is definitely going to affect our investment plans and our anticipation in Puteri Harbour. But who know, it might be for the better unless they decided to put in Islamic laws. That's the fun of investments. It is full of ups and downs.

Can anyone recall the then number 2 imposed a 100k levy for foreigners buying msian properties?
His mentor subsequently abolished it. So it will be revived, doubled up even. Tread carefully man.
I doubt anyone can simply destroy the maggots which have been dependent on the feedings since
time immemorial.

Last Night, in my dream I saw eventually BN won. Then I asked my self in the dream '' How could it be''?Then I woke up in my dream. ''It's just a dream'', I said to myself in my dream. Haha. But based on my dream records, mostly my dreams tell the truth.

Normally underground odds quite accurate.

Buy BN wins more than 112 seats , 1 pay 1.55
Buy BN wins leas than 112 seats, 1 pay 2.3

shall see how the odds changes as it gets closer

like that we should be support MR.Najib better --BN win and nusajaya win and we also win..ha ha !!!

on the contrary i'll be more careful if BN wins. With the country debt piling up to 5++bil, i'm worried of Malaysia becoming the next Greece or AbuDhabi. The DAP LimKeatSiang who is contesting in Nusajaya had the capability of reversing the debt ridden Penang in his last 5 yrs of reign; my golden investment nest comes forth more important than their politics.
