Well said. Those WP clowns avoid saying the wrong things by saying nothing. They avoid doing anything wrong by doing nothing. They avoid having to run Singapore by declaring up front that they are long way from being ready to govern.
The PAP, on the other hand, takes the bull by the horns and tackles all problems head on for the greater good of the country. Things may go wrong once in a while but 99.9% of the time, the PAP gets it right and the loser critics take it for granted.
If it was not for the PAP, Singapore would still be swampland.

I think it will be smarter for the weak opposition to play it safe & let the PAP lose the election. All they have to do is to a half decent job & that will put the PAP in a bad light.
In case anyone hasn't noticed the PAP has gradually lost support through the years. You just have to take a look at what the PAP is doing to lose support: losing our CPF $$$, letting in too many people, failing to maintain the infrastructure, bringing in incompetent family members, ...

I think pap is still in power because of its asset (housing) enhancement policy. Most sinkies are self-centered and are scared that their flats/ houses drop in value.

I own my own place but that hasn't stopped me from being critical of the PAP. The elite vs "lesser mortals" problem could have been avoided if only Sporeans had acted sooner. If Sporeans had not let LKY get away with getting his "extra" eggs, I doubt he would have become the richest man in Spore.
Nothing wrong with Pap has been doing this year. All the "flops" we are witnessing are resultant from the administration between 2001-2011. Singaporeans are now paying the price for bestowing Pap with a license to buttfuck us.
Public housing and transport prices will never come down. Inadequate infrastructure to support overcrowding will never be eased. More old uncles and aunties will pick up rubbish as the rich-poor divide grows ever bigger. Singaporeans will continue to be discriminated by foreigners in their own country. Whoever comes into power in the next 20 years will have the mammoth task of undoing all the socio-economic damage to the country during the Golden Period.
How can this country be repaired? The solution is simple: invent a time machine and go back to vote opposition in the 2001 or 2006.
