I had this incident few months back where a Pinoy lady calling me to enrol Standard
Chartered Bank credit cards. Despite rejecting the offer, they sent me cheque books, 2
credit cards. They have all the details. I just ignored and thrown them away. A month later, I received a statement to pay a minimum charge. WTF, is that a way they operate
their business?

wait a minute... i thought for any card applications, it would require your signature???

i also got numerous calls from the same Pinoy lady asking me to get the Standard Chartered Manhattan card, as well as their Plat. card. but they did provide a courier to send the relevant documents to sign.:confused::confused:

i'm not sure if i'm the only one...

are you guys getting calls from banks asking you to sign up for credit cards and related services, e.g. loans and low interests repayment schemes?

what would you do when you pick up such calls?
Do what Jerry did on an episode of "Seinfeld".
Ask the person on the phone for his home or office phone number. When he refuses to give, tell him that you don't like to receive such calls at home or in the office as well, and then slam the phone down!

I received these kind of calls almost everyday and even from banks that I dont have dealing with. Their usually us private number, no number to call back. They will always started with praising you like you are one of the lucky million selected by the bank bla bla bla. Now they use pinoys and indians. The best thing to do is, you ask them to mail the details to you and dont give your email address. Because if they are geunine they should know your email add if not they are just another agent selling products for banks. You will see that they will not call you again and the email will not reach your mail box. Period
I would tell them:
"Hey I was just about to call you as well, what a coincidence. You are also one of the lucky million I was about to call."

if they keep talking after I say I'm not interested, I just hang up on them.

how about kidnappers? the new rage.
No, you should hang up on them while you are talking, not while they are talking.

The Singapore ones still ok. Not sure if this had happened to you before or not. I got Telemarketing call from Taiwan (does not sound PRC, sound Southern Taiwanese). Dunno a f**k what they sell. I politely tell them "No" and before I could finish the damn sentence, they replied in a rude manner and then hang up the phone. Kanna twice liao.

Got once, this Taiwanese bitch mistakeningly call me again on the same day, after slaming down the phone on me earlier. KNNB.. I just disconnected my hp when she was talking!

Usually, I am nice to Telemarketers because these people are making a living, althoug some annoy me at times..
You should have called her ccb before you hung up the second time.

unkind? i've got a Pinoy wasting my time, costing me my phone bills and refusing to put down despite the fact i've told him repeatedly i'm not interested.

he finally relented and said "thank you" after i told him i do not wish to slam the phone on anyone.

Hahaha.

I kena many times not only Pinoy but also Angmo calling from several cities around the world, telling me about some hot tip on Nasdaq or Dow Jones and saying the initial investment is only US$4,000 or $8,000 blah blah blah and so on. What's most irritating is that they're super persistent and refuse to hang up and have all sorts of replies for whatever responses I give them. I've found that the best way to deal with it is to tell them "I dont want to be rude to you, but I'm hanging up, John" Click.

my ex-colleague very gabra, didn't know how to say firm no, the marketer just interpret as yes and mailed him the card, kena conned

timeshare ones were the worst, switch mood very fast, blame you for wasting their time

best solution is to treat them like shit and hang up so they can find a more ethical job

I think that for those who call and ask you politely, and you reject politely and they thank you politely, so be it. They are also making a living.
But for those who are irritatingly persistent or get angry or turn against you, we should play with their minds.

lol... if the number is held by someone else, that person would be very annoyed when his/her phone keeps ringing :biggrin::biggrin:
