Your logic is flawed. Vegans are vegans for the animals and not just themselves. Even if they still crave for meat, at least the animals are not directly harmed due to them.
You based your logic on a white and black platform. Vegan must not eat even mock meat and all Christians are virgins before marriages. There are shades of grey and everyone is just trying their best.
