At a press conference full of CNA and ST reporters, Low slammed the mainstream media and said that we have regressed since the GE 2011, because the media has once again gone back to being a PAP mouthpiece.

He also slammed the PAP for making empty promises of being more receptive, instead describing them of "hardening their position" by resorting to personal attacks and threats.

Low has been criticised for being too mild.. I am delighted that he is making this point now. The media needs to be called into question. The PAP's disgusting tactics also need to be highlighted.

WP chief Low Thia Khiang at the post-results press conference: "Look at newspaper reports, the headlines in mainstream media - all hint at character assassination. There have been many instances of unfair coverage in the mainstream media. Some headlines and photos chosen were very misleading.

"It saddens me to see mainstream media used as a tool of the ruling party. Independent media is a cornerstone of a first-world Parliament.

"I regret the Hougang by-election has degenerated to this state. Singapore will regress politically if we move in this direction."

support low for being hard at the mouth piece of the pap.after watching png spoke, he seems like a very sincere guy.although his not good in speaking, but at least he dun act act like the papies.

Or more like, in the face of cheaper FT potentially standing by to take over their job, they have become more zealous to show loyalty, hence protecting their precious rice bowl.

The WP should up the ante and call for their supporters around the country to BOYCOTT the mainstream media.

And the supporters of other opposition parties, especially the SDP, should follow suit.

If even 50% of the opposition supporters boycott the mainstream media, for instance by cancelling their ST subscriptions for just one month and instead getting their news online, SPH's bottom line will be badly hurt - and that might provide some food for thought as to who their 'bosses' really are.

As it is, SPH is struggling to sustain their levels of profit.

When there is a need to be mild, then do so. If there is a need to be hard hitting, then be so.

People can comment all they want, but as they are only observers and not the participants, they do not carry the responsiblity of the actions, making comments on something which have no bearing on themselves.

Low did what he think he should do and hence had shown how its been done. This is called strategy and even at times I dun like what he is doing, I have to give him the due respect that his strategy had beared fruit so far.

I think that if he had been a bit more aggressive, he would not just be stuck with 8 MPs.

With the PAP underperforming for the last 5-6 years, he should really have acquired more than 12 seats in Parliament by now.

The Singapore society is not one that like those who screams and shouts and acts like quarralsome housewives. You dun understand the mentality of Singaporeans, You will not be able to win support from the silent majority.

Now its the time to attack and lay the foundation for GE2016 for more GRCs to fall.
