炎熱的夏季已悄悄到來，惱人的蚊子經常在這個季節出沒，此時也總能聽見各處掌聲四起。不過日前有名網友於《爆廢公社》po出「XL蚊子照」，更驚呼提問「牠是誰？」許多網友留言呼籲原po，「無害，不要理他（牠）就好。」

近日有名網友在《爆廢公社》po出「XL蚊子照」，讓他驚呼向網友提問，「牠是誰？你們會怎麼對待牠呢？」從照片上可辨別超巨大蚊子擁有6條相當細長的腳，還呈現「米」字型張開休息，身體與翅膀也是大的誇張。
一般人可能也會與原po出現一樣的疑惑，甚至懷疑牠會不會叮咬人類，或造成其他危害。就有不少網友搞笑留言，「空拍機」「神的十字架」「小心這是突變的，需要特種部隊消滅。」不過也有多人成功解惑，「台灣大蚊」「它吃素的！」「無害，不要理他就好。」
其實行政院農委會特生中心自然保育季刊第85期中，就曾介紹這些「台灣大蚊」，這些大蚊長得就像放大版的蚊子，但牠的口器卻與蚊子「刺吸式」的細長管子不同，因此並不會叮咬人。根據國外研究指出，大蚊的成蟲及幼蟲是鳥類育雛時的重要食物來源之一，幼蟲更像蚯蚓一樣可分解腐植質，進而改善土質。所以下次再遇見這些大蚊時，千萬別急著想要殺死牠們，牠們也是維持生態正常運作的重要成員。
