SINGAPORE: Two youths were charged in court Friday with being involved in unlicensed moneylending activities.
They are said to have used kerosene to set fire outside a unit on the ninth floor of Blk 862 Tampines Street 83 as a form of harassment.
Bernard Quek He Feng, 20, and Sasitharan Marimuthu, 19, allegedly also scribbled graffiti on the wall near the lift lobby.
Both were arrested on Wednesday.
They are also suspected to be behind at least six similar cases at Whampoa, Toa Payoh, Bedok, Woodlands and Tampines housing estates.
If convicted, they may be jailed up to five years, fined a maximum of S$50,000 and given six strokes of the cane.
The case will come up for mention again next Friday.
