SINGAPORE - The police have arrested two youths aged 13 and 18 for shoplifting and for stealing bicycles.
The suspects were arrested after the police followed up on a report made on May 16 that items were stolen from a supermarket along Canberra Road.
Police investigations revealed that the duo also stole bicycles in Sembawang estate.
Investigations against both suspects are ongoing.
If found guilty for shop theft, they face up to seven years in jail and are liable to a fine. If found guilty of theft, they can be jailed up to three years and/or fined.
The police advise the public to park and secure their bicycles at designated bicycle bays to avoid falling prey to criminals.
