SINGAPORE : A 19-year-old youth believed to be responsible for a spate of thefts from vehicles was arrested following a tip-off from the public.
At about 1.10pm on Sunday, a couple staying at Block 20 Hougang Avenue 3 spotted a male youth behaving suspiciously among some motorcycles parked at the carpark.
The couple then called the police. When officers arrived at the scene, the youth was no where to be found.
A subsequent search around the neighbourhood led to the arrest of a youth who fitted the description of the suspect. Five CashCards and two auto-pass cards were seized from the suspect.
The youth will be charged in court with theft on Tuesday.
If convicted, he faces a maximum jail term of three years, a fine, or both. - CNA/ms
