I have always admired Robin Hood. Robbed the rich to give to the poor, fighting for justice, no evidence that he did these for fame or wealth.
The TV series "Leverage" has a similar concept, but some would say that it's rather far fetched because they the Leverage team always seems to beat the bad guys and get away with tons of money through their swindling and computer skills.

Some of you will mock me but I have thought for a long time about forming a Leverage team too. Not for fame or wealth, definitely not as skilled or as cunning to be able to get tons of cash from the bad guys, but more so to fight against injustice, stand up for the underdog, give the rich and powerful who abuse their power their come-uppance. Just simple day to day things to prevent people from bullying others.

What are your leverage values? What are the things you feel we should speak up and stand up for? Who are the people we should speak up against?
(other than government please)

Someone told me that we should tell off parents who scold their children in public. I told him that this is probably none of our business and we should only interfere if they start hitting the child.

We should speak up against:

a) people who think PAP is god and indispensable
b) people who think smoking is OK
c) people who think it is ok to evangelize any way they like (because it is their right)

Sneering bro, :)

I agree with you but not completely.
For A, we can't expect people like top civil servants to think or talk bad about the pappies. They depend on them. But I agree that we can certainly tell off those who impose their views on others without facts.
For B, we have discussed this at length in the thread enttitled "Smoking". I would agree with you, but would add that "people who think smoking in the presence of people who dislike cigarette smoke is ok".
For C, people should be able to evangelise, but they should also be able to accept rejection. Just like people marketing credit cards or asking for donations. When you say "no thank you", they ask you "why?" Ridiculous.
