A 21-year-old Singaporean Chinese woman was found dead yesterday in a budget hotel in Geylang. She is suspected to have committed suicide by suffocating herself with a plastic bag.

The body was discovered yesterday around 3.50pm at a budget hotel along Geylang Lorong 22.

The woman – who was rather attractive – was found dead in a room on the fifth floor. She was supposed to have checked out yesterday, but hotel staff found her motionless when they went to her hotel room to check on her.

She was pronounced dead at 4.30pm.

Shin Min Daily News reported that the deceased did not have any visible injuries on her body. She had a plastic bag tied over her head and had some medication and a rope beside her.

She is believed to have died from suffocation.

Text messages found in her phone indicates that she was intending to commit suicide. The deceased lived near to the hotel where she was found dead.
