A Year One student from the National University of Singapore (NUS) University Scholars’ Programme (USP) has been found dead in the varsity’s UTown campus.

21-year-old Peter Huen Kam Fai was found dead hanging in his room early on Wednesday morning at the Cinnamon College.

Police said they received a call on Tuesday at 5:06pm requesting for assistance at College Ave East. Upon arrival, they found a male Chinese motionless at the location. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they are investigating the "unnatural death".

Huen, who was majoring in Political Science, is also understood to have been an active sportsman, and was part of the USP Foosball Club. He is also passionate about writing.

He and a few others belonged to a USPPoets group and omy found a tongue in cheek poem written by him on the web which showcased his creative and light-hearted side.

Only in SGP students killed themselves because of stress from studies.

Or did he write something which pissed najib razak off?

Another Shane Todd case in Singapore?

Maybe did not qualify to vote in coming election.

No, he found that he could not break into the Elite circle when he joined PAP youth group, thereby his chance of being invited to the 'tea party' was almost 'NIL"!:D

Suck it up Sinkie! LOL

Peter Huen Kam Fai

NUS USP is open to singaporeans, like a "S paper" program for uni students. its not the give-money-to-foreigner-to-study-here type.

its one of the most useless program, nice to look in name. due to the structure of the stupid program, most of the students from this program lack of depth in understanding the same topic as compared to their peers. <---speaking from the point of view of a chemistry graduate

I see you like it deep, vamjok.

the term University Scholar program just appears on a stupid certificates, and you have to take a wide range of fucking useless modules, replacing it with certain core mod. end of the day, people from this program are half basket of shit in their major, i had always advise my juniors to stay away from this stupid program that only look nice on paper.

then again, there are people who argued that basic degree is about exposure and broad based learning bullshit.
