World Press Freedom index: S’pore ranked 135
SINGAPORE — The Republic
has moved up one place on the
2011-2012 World Press Freedom
Index and is now ranked
135, after the last index was
released in 2010. The index,
compiled by Reporters Without
Borders, involved 179 nations.
Malaysia, meanwhile, has
moved up 19 places and is now
ranked 122 compared to 141 in
2010. It is now ahead of neighbours
Brunei, Singapore, Indonesia,
Thailand and the Philippines.
