SINGAPORE: Former chief executive of Land Transport Authority (LTA), now People's Association chief executive director, Yam Ah Mee, will make his stage musical debut on Sunday, October 2.
The musical celebrates the opening of the 12 new stations on the final stretch of the Circle Line before the line opens its doors to the public on October 8.
Mr Yam shot to fame during the General Election and Presidential Election results announcements and is known to his Facebook fans as "Returning Officer Extraordinaire".
LTA said Mr Yam will appear alongside television and stage personalities Chua Enlai, Irene Ang and Alaric Tay.
The authority said the musical, "Celebrate Life on the Circle Line", is the highlight of the Discovery event, which will see a full day of entertainment and activities rolling out to members of the public on Sunday.
Mr Yam will make his debut at Buona Vista Circle Line station at 10am. CCL Discovery event will start at 10am and end at 6pm.
Visitors will be able to hop on the train at any of the 12 stations from Caldecott to HarbourFront for free throughout the eight hours.
A free bus shuttle service will be available to ferry passengers between Marymount and Caldecott stations from 10am to 6pm at intervals of 10 minutes.
