SINGAPORE: The Returning Officer for the Hougang by-election is Mr Yam Ah Mee and he has approved the use of nine symbols by candidates for the election.

Some of the symbols include a scroll, bicycle, ship, tree, flower, horse, hen, rhinoceros and bird.

Nomination papers for the Hougang by-election can be filed at Serangoon Junior College from 11am to 12pm on the 16 May.
