I think that is the real meaning of xenophobia in their context
you hit the nail on the head. everyone who is against foreigners with or without good reason is now a close-minded small-hearted bigot. pap trying to do a labelling propaganda. complain about prc talking loudly and rudely on public transport - i'm a bigot. complain about the ah neh neighbour who bring his whole 40-50 community down to the pool every sunday for bbq and swim and trash the place, i'm a bigot.
I think that is the real meaning of xenophobia in their context
we have lived with malaysians for so long. nobody called us xenophobic then.
The one talent they sure have is labelling.
Recollection of the terms used by PAP to silence critics since the beginning of times:
1) Communists
2) Racists
3) Terrorists
4) Xenophobe
bro,
think you forgot the term "quitters"
What do you call people who betray the country?

Rein in offensive, insensitive one-eyed dragons online
I THANK Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong for raising the perception issue in Sunday's National Day Rally speech ("Double standards towards foreigners worry PM"; Monday).
The behaviour of some netizens not only reflect poorly on Singaporeans, their postings are also extremely offensive. Netizens have been getting away - and going overboard - with their anti-new immigrant postings with impunity; particularly in attacks against mainland Chinese.
It appears that there exist some instigators whose sole intention is to agitate the young and discredit a rational immigration policy. I hope the authorities can act and rein in such a worrying trend which stands in the way of progress and prosperity. In fact, I wonder why the authorities are so tolerant especially in view of their immediate crackdown on scurrilous remarks that threaten social harmony.
Singapore has come a long way and the path travelled was not easy. Its achievements must be protected and not ruined by one-eyed dragons online.
