Not sure if this has been brought up before, but the all about cars thread has over 54 pages, so I thought I would ask this. Looking at recon cars now. Does anyone recommend these versus the local used cars? Is servicing going to be an issue for these cars? Are there any parallel importers you would recommend and would they back up their products with a service department? Thanks in advance.

Well recon cars can be a little tricky. Do some research before getting one. Depending on the make and model you intend to buy, you do have to e careful with your purchase. In comparison with used cars you would be paying a higher price than a used car. Buying a recon car may land you some sort of warranty (insurance) which can be comprehensive and non comprehensive depending strictly on whether the dealer is willing to purchase for you. Generally if you are buying mainstream vehicles, servicing should not be of an issue.

Ok, thanks.

Ok, thanks.

In addition, should you really decide to get a recond car, please do get a mechanic to take a look at the car. Japanese recond have ratings on their cars. As for UK cars please double check on their condition because their usage is high and sometimes what you see on the exterior may be very different from the condition. Many dealers do an awesome job in the cosmetics.
