Given the current scene ( money laundering , gambling , prostitution hub ) in Singapore , would you "encourage" your offspring or relative ( nephew , cousin etc ) to siam or keng National Slavery ?
After all , the loud and rude Tiongs , waiting on tables Pinoys , cock-sucking Pinays , Burmese druglords , fox spirit Viet bu and Indians ( from rape capital , India ) and of course cannot make it white trash are the ones who benefit from the system :oIo:
National Slavery for locals , jobs for foreigners
If you were to "encourage" , what are the options available besides migration ?

It does not make any sense. Can you imagine your Cpl or Capt during BMT giving pep or motivational talk. Where do they start. Defend what? One third or more of the recruits would be born elsewhere or first generation Singaporeans and they would have ben raised in ethnic silos or enclaves. Even among the foreign Indians, their caste system will not allow easy mingling with their own kind.

I am also not sure how secure we will be when one third would have questionable allegiance or they themselves may not be sure. How do you keep military secrets in such an environment.

It is not a conundrum but more a mess.
