习近平指出，中国同世界银行有着长期良好的合作。我们赞赏世界银行积极支持“一带一路”倡议，以及近年来大力推进增资和股权改革，提高包括中国在内新兴市场国家和发展中国家代表性和发言权。世界银行是维护多边主义和经济全球化的重要力量。中方愿深化同世界银行的全球发展伙伴关系，促进贸易和投资自由化便利化，共同推动全球减贫和可持续发展，维护开放型世界经济，建设人类命运共同体。
习近平强调，当今世界是一个地球村。尽管单边主义、保护主义不断有新的表现，但各国利益交融、命运与共、经济全球化不可逆转，合作共赢是大势所趋。中国的发展得益于经济全球化和贸易自由化，同时也为全球经济增长作出了重要贡献。我们反对针对中国的那些不实指责，将坚定维护自身合理利益。作为负责任大国和现行国际体系的建设者和贡献者，中国将坚定不移支持完善多边贸易体制，推动贸易和投资自由化便利化，致力于同各方一道，做大合作的蛋糕，实现互利共赢。我们提出“一带一路”倡议，就是要在国际规则基础上，通过共商共建共享，促进国际发展合作。中方愿加强同世界银行在“一带一路”框架下合作。
金墉表示，感谢中国长期以来对世界银行的大力支持。世界银行高度评价习近平主席去年在世界经济论坛年会上重要讲话，您提出要敢于到世界市场的汪洋大海中去游泳，我完全赞同并多次引用。在全球化时代，各国都不能闭关自守，都要遵守规则。世界银行赞赏中方支持多边主义和经济全球化，支持世界银行增资和股权改革。习主席提出的“一带一路”倡议体现着远见卓识，极大地有助于国际发展合作和减贫事业。世界银行愿同中方进一步深化“一带一路”框架下合作，共同推动全球减贫和发展事业不断取得新的成就。
