Worker at Forbidden City in Beijing faces execution for stabbing two of his bosses to death
Display designer at former imperial palace claimed he was angered by the poor security at the museum, but prosecutors said he had a grudge against his supervisors

A court in Beijing has sentenced a former employee at the Forbidden City, the former imperial palace in the centre of the capital, to be executed for stabbing two of his supervisors to death in the museum’s grounds, according to a state-run newspaper report.
Zheng Zhibiao argued at his trial that he had been concerned about the lack of protection for historical artifacts, The Beijing News reported.
The vast network of ceremonial halls, imperial apartments and other buildings is Beijing’s premier tourist attraction.
Zheng, a display designer at the museum’s exhibition division, had complained about an alleged lack of professionalism in protecting and renovating the museum.
It was not clear what prompted him to kill the two supervisors, although the newspaper said prosecutors argued he had a personal grudge.
Zheng tried to kill himself after the killings in October last year, but was saved by hospital medical staff, the Beijing Times reported at the time.
