据悉，死者是一名41岁的女性，是事发单位的住户。而死者被发现时身体手脚、脸部、眼睛都有淤伤，相信死前曾遭人毒打。

而死者的婚姻记录记载，她曾在2013年11月结婚，但目前的婚姻状态不详。
据邻居透露，单位里平时只住着女死者一人，但常见一名男子经常出现在死者家，应该是死者的男友。
而根据会计与企业管制局（ACRA）资料，死者曾在2009年注册开设过一间美容院，但执照已经在2011年注销。
有邻居形容死者身材微胖，鲜少和邻居交流，只知道她有一名男友。
而大多邻居则表示，事发组屋刚落成不久，多数住户都是搬进来一年多而已，所以相互交流不多，不太清楚死者的事情。
而一名同层住户则透露，自己的父亲是夜班德士司机，在今天凌晨1时许回家时，曾看见事发单位门前有一名女子头部包着毛巾，独自站在走廊上用双手扶着围墙栏杆。
不过自己的父亲当时不以为意，和往常一样回家睡觉。但今天早上7点左右起床出门时，听见邻居们都在议论纷纷，指事发单位有一名女住户疑遇害，感到很惊讶！
经常听到争吵声
有人猜测是死者的男友导致死者身亡。事发单位楼下的女邻居透露说，过去一个月楼上经常传来男女的争吵声。
而住在10楼的女邻居也表示，过去一个月，多次听到楼上传来激烈的吵架声，但不知道他们在吵些什么，只听到一对男女在互相对骂。
