A 6-year-old boy who was drugged and whose eyes had been plucked out is now in hospital. The suspect is believed to be a woman not from the boy's hometown of Linfen, northern China's Shanxi Province.
The boy, named Binbin, was found in a field not far from his home around 10 p.m. on Aug. 24. He was drugged, his face was soaked in blood, and his eyes had been plucked out.
The boy was playing outside his home that afternoon, when a woman with a foreign accent asked him to come to her and then took him away. When Binbin refused to go with the woman she threatened to pluck his eyes out, and did so using a twig, according to the boy.
The boy's eye balls were found the next morning. "I don't think it for organ trade, since the eye balls and corneas have been found." Binbin's uncle Mr. Guo told Beijing Youth Daily. Chinanews.com reported the corneas still missing.
The local police have set up a special group to investigate the case and have offered a reward of 100,000 RMB to find the suspect.
The boy was said to suffer from a cleft lip and palate, and his parents are both farmers.
