A man has been arrested for suspected involvement in a case of robbery with hurt.
A 28-year-old woman had her necklace and pendant - valued at $400 - snatched by a man who pushed her to the ground.
This took place in Geylang Bahru at about 9.10am on Tuesday.
The man had earlier asked her for money, but she had ignored him.
Two passers-by who witnessed the incident helped look out for the suspect.
Responding officers spotted a man who matched the suspect's description in the vicinity and detained him.
The woman's belongings were found on him.
The 29-year-old will be charged today for robbery with hurt.
If found guilty, he faces up to 20 years in jail and at least 12 strokes of the cane.
