Ng Bee Hong, 31, was jailed a total of 26 months for buglary and theft.
A WOMAN who took her 10-year-old daughter along to break into a sports association where she had worked was jailed a total of 26 months on Tuesday.
Ng Bee Hong, 31, admitted to one count each of housebreaking and theft of $11,036 at Nessea Club, misappropriating $5,947 from the club at Upper Thomson Road, and stealing $604 from the Greenbeggger Supermarket in Geylang Road.
The divorcee, who is pregnant, has stage three kidney cancer.
The court heard that she reported for work at Nessea Club as a jackpot cashier on Oct 1 last year and left an hour later after siphoning $5,947.
On Oct 30 at about 12.30am, she broke into the premises with her daughter by smashing the glass door leading into the office.
She got away with several bowls of coins from the jackpot machine and $11,036 from the safe.
In the other case, the court heard that she stole money from the supermarket on the first day of her work last Sep 24 as she was in need of cash.
Ng, who has similar convictions, could have been jailed for up to 14 years for burglary, 15 years for criminal breach of trust as a servant and seven years for stealing from her employer.
No further action has been taken against her daughter, now 11.
