"When in doubt, drink on the roof": Woman falls to death after Instagram posts

A woman has fallen to her death from an apartment building after posting pictures to social media of her drinking on the rooftop.
Kasey Jones, 26, fell five stories to her death from the Manhatten building last week while trying to climb down a fire escape, the New York Daily News reports.
She landed in a courtyard on Vermilyea Avenue and died at the scene.

Before the fall, Jones had posted a series of photos to social media app Instagram showing her feet dangling over the building’s side, and photos of her bare feet atop a fire escape.
"When in doubt, drink on the rooftop," Jones posted below a picture of the New York view.
“The climb down from the fire escape though," she wrote under another.
At least one of the posts was made a week before her death, indicating it had not been the first time Jones had opted to relax on the rooftop.
The building’s superintendent Jesse Ray Mendez said he had socialized with Jones and her friends and had warned her many times of the dangers of drinking on the roof.
“I feel guilty,” Mendez said.
“This could have been avoided, and they should have listened to me the first time.

According to the New York Daily News, the tragedy occurred just hours after a Bronx man fell from his five storey rooftop.
The man reportedly fell asleep and fell from the building, however, he survived the accident.
