Second Minister for Trade and Industry, S Iswaran, said that Singapore Firms should jump into the India market and help them in their development projects.
He explained that the new Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and his government have shown that they “really mean business”.

Mr Iswaran said these comments during his four day visit to India.
He visited India with about 100 Singaporean businessmen and he said that this reflects the rising interest and confidence in India.
“This confidence stems in no small part from the Bharatiya Janata Party’s historic victory in the general election last year and Mr Modi’s strong leadership,” Mr Iswaran said at a summit in India.
“As an old friend and partner of India, Singapore is excited by Mr Modi’s vision for India and the way he and his ministers are re-energising the Indian bureaucracy to devote attention and take decisive steps towards achieving the PM’s vision for India,” he said.
Mr Iswaran also noted that Mr Modi is himself personally overseeing the projects and so things will be different than in the past.
In particular, Mr Iswaran said that Singapore can contribute to the development of smart and sustainable cities in India.

With CECA, singapore companies can set up branch office in India and bring over all their singaporean management people. They don't have to hire unqualified local Indians.
