[TD="class: bodytext_10pt, colspan: 3"]SHE holds the record for the world's biggest breasts. And Sheyla Hershey's biggest assets are said to have saved her life when her car crashed in Houston, Texas.
Reports said the 32-year-old's assets acted as an "airbag" to prevent any serious injury to her.
Hershey, who has 38KKK breasts, was driving home after a Super Bowl party last Sunday when she lost control of her Ford Mustang and crashed into a tree, the Daily Mail reported. "I think my breasts saved my life," Hershey told the Barcroft Media news service.
"The accident was bad and my boobs are sore, but they protected the rest of me."She was charged with drunk driving and allegedly was not wearing a seatbelt when she lost control of her car.
She was released on bail and is due to appear in court on March 28, reported the Daily Mirror. The bail was set at US$1,800 (S$2,300).
Hershey said: "The cops showed up around 11pm and checked (if) I was all right, but asked if I had been drinking.
"I told them I hadn't been drinking."
She added that she doesn't drink at all and had "passed the breathalyser test".
Bipolar disorder
The 1.61m-tall Brazil-born model takes medication for bipolar disorder and depression, but that has never impaired her driving , she told Fox News.
A request for more details on the case was not immediately returned, the Daily Mail reported.
In 2010, her assets almost became her biggest liability due to a life-threatening infection and she had to undergo an emergency operation.
That left Hershey with unattractive sagging skin where her implants had been, but she was obsessed with maintaining her name in the Guinness World Records.
She got her new implants last November. She said they made her feel "almost whole again".
She said: "Not having my breasts was killing me. I didn't know if I could make it through 2012 without them.
"My breasts had become part of me and I was deformed without them. It is a miracle. I never thought I would have my breasts back again."
Her doctor husband, Derek, 29, feared that more surgery would result in another serious infection.
Hershey ignored his advice and went ahead with it.
She had the operation in Mexico, Daily Mail reported.
There, she had 2,500cc of saline iinjected into her breasts before having more of the substance gradually introduced in her hometown of Vitoria, Brazil.
Hershey has already spent more than US$100,000 in the last decade maintaining her breasts. Now she is planning to up the size of her assets to 38MMM.[/TD]
