Actually why is it that you dont quote and highlight the data from New Zealand?

Covid wise I think the aggressive lockdown approach nip things in the butt early strategy from NZ has provided good results dont you think?

Sure maybe not so good fro economy stand point but I think NZ is still chugging along economy wise?

Not every country can do what NZ is doing but it does show that is one strategy that works.

Sweden's is another.

I think the rest of the world is trying some kind of in between approach and the results are not what is expected so far.

I don't have to earn a living and I don't like traveling so I'm quite happy to carry on with the way things are.

However I have friends who are in dire straits. Some lose 100% of their income every time there is a lockdown and they are not the exception. There are many others in the same boat.

How long can this effort to sustain zero cases carry on? We have found that vaccines are not the panacea people are still going to die. If NZ remains are hermit nation the economy will eventually collapse.

The only way out is if effective treatments arrive. Pfizer is working on a pill which can be popped at the first sign of symptoms eg just like Tamilflu. If that brings deaths down to a low level then perhaps things can go back to normal for NZ. Otherwise there is no end in sight.
