Very good question. I dont understand for years
They prefer to use to long bunny bus, which is so dangerous in turnning. so many times I saw 851 making dangerous turn at Bugis Area

Bendy buses can pack more in as more standing passengers....double deck on top cannot stand. Pack more in = more profits

the former TIBS buses were actually much shorter but are now much longer ever since SMRT took over them.
while SBS buses became "taller" SMRT buses became "longer" lor.

Long bus alight faster because have extra door. Every stop is faster.
