But the question is – whose interest is this not in, and so, why would the Members of Parliament understand these sensitivities? And why not, right? So, now, do you know why he said this?

If so, if the PAP government is not protecting the Singaporean worker, then who is the government protecting? Or what?

For goodness sake, there are 1 billion people in India. If the PAP government doesn’t already understand this, India is the country with the second largest population of 1 billion in the world and Singapore happens to be one of the smallest countries in the world! Seen in this light, it would’t take a 8-year old to understand how such an overly porous labour and border policy in these agreements is completely unsound, let alone that for a PAP minister to understand. What was the PAP thinking, or actually, what were they not thinking??

I read a comment on another article, where someone said, “it’s a sell out (of Singaporeans)!” I think he sums it up just nicely. There is no other way to say it – we’ve been had.

Confuseous,

Dear Bro, we still have not seen the potential disastrous consequences when AEC (Asean Economic Community) materializes.

It was reported in our state-controlled media a few months ago that Pinky was anxious to see AEC becomes a reality. When it does, any Pinoy, Thai, Cambodian, Indonesian, etc... can work freely in Sinkieland without the need for employment pass or work permit.

AEC only benefits Sinkie GLCs (or what is called state-owned enterprises).

It is not the government's job to protect the job of each individual Singaporean.

It is the government's responsibility to ensure that the economy grows and opportunities are continuously created.

New opportunities often require new skills and it is up to the individual that he embarks upon a continuous learning process so that he is ready to take on the new challenges when his old job becomes obsolete.

My skills that I had learned in the mid 70s were obsolete by the late 80s. If I had not embarked upon a new career, I would have ended up jobless too. Then, when the internet burst upon the scene, I went back to school all over again to learn new skills.

The government didn't protect my job but they certainly created new opportunities that I grabbed with gusto. For that, I will be forever grateful to LKY and the PAP.

Dumbfuck, got anything more creative and original than your pro-old fuck and pro-pappies stories?

I'll stop telling my pro PAP stories when others stop maligning the best government in the world with deceit and falsehoods.

If governments had to protect everyone's job, the country would be unable to progress.

Much as I hate to agree with this I have to. Too many people depended on the government and current employers and did not look out for themselves. Yes, they worked hard but they chose to take comfort in something outside themselves. I can still recall those who ridiculed others who strove to pick up new skills and qualifications after their first degree. These people soon lost the ability to learn. I have horrible experiences with middle-aged PMETS who think their mere presence justifies their salaries and they can coast through the day without a single thought in their heads. I still do not think the government was right to open the floodgates. But people must be crazy to trust politicians of any stripe who will give their survival first priority.

The number of Indians applying for a job at my company. Even the ones that are still in India. They are willing to come over accepting a lower job title. Out of 10 applicants we get like 8 from India. Unfortunately for them, applying for a visa here is not like in Singapore. Singaporean can do the same, instead of kbkp about job protection. If Singapore doesn't suit you chose another government.

You twit, no one is asking you to stop posting your pappies crappy stories. But can you add some creativity in your pappies crappy stories?

Back to topic,

If pappies is able to provide peasants a level playing field, peasants steal laugh already.

Is this truly a surprise? For decade the PAP has always put foreigners first. More and more are coming and as far as PAP is concern, Sinkies can go fuck themselves.

MPs are jiuhu kia too. So of course they give jobs to their no nsf jiuhu kias

Have you ever ask yourself why our FTs are from corrupted cuntries like China, India, Myanmar and Philipines ?
Piss and Poop has trade agreements with them where our jobs are used as bargaining chips in exchange for their dirty money to be parked here.
Our financial sector are highly dependent on these dirty money. We are not called the Swiss bank of Asia for no reason.
In other words, the fucking gahmen has ZERO incentive to create jobs for Sinkies.

VOTE OUT ALL THE MAGGOTS AND MAGGOTESS IN WHITE AND TURN STINKAPORE BACK INTO SINGAPORE

OR OUR KIDS END UP BECOMING SECURITY GUARDS TO BE KICKED IN FACE BY CECAs OR PANDA FOOD DELIVERIES OR PICKING UP CARDBOARDS OR SELLING TISSUE PAPER IN HAWKER CENTERS

And why Stinkapore got the GOLD Standard for wuhan control?

A good old discussion
Silly oppie! U need to think one step ahead. Worker Party working hard to earn those plump juicy ceca votes. That's why they silent about ceca, put an Indian to front their mischief. But clever cecas are not taken in, smart sinkies are not fooled either. Now is the time to rid the double crossing wankers out of hougang and aljunied!
