It's an open secret that the foreigners are treated and protected better then sinkies.
The foreigners know this all too well.
My uncle who is in 60s a few years ago was told by his bangladesh colleague that "singaporeans cannot work. that is why we are here. Even your government knows this".
To this day, my uncle who is retired now mentions this story at family gatherings.
