Did you realize that our dear 154th Shitty Times have been actively promoting TOC for the past few weeks ? In this week alone, TOC has been in the news on 3 days !!!
Now, why is the state media so attracted by TOC ? TOC is not the only socio-political blog in Singapore. In fact, there are more established ones around such as littlespeck, Sintercom, Singabloodypore, Mr Brown, Mr Wang, Yawning Bread, sgpolitics, Singapore Angle etc. Yet these blogs are very seldom mentioned by the Shitty Times !!!
Since PM Lee announce that it is legal to hold protest at Hong Lim Park, TOC sprung almost immediately into action with a protest on public transport yesterday. On the other hand, Alex Au said he will not justify "tokenism" from the PAP.
It is so bloody obvious that TOC and ST are performing a wayang kulit to improve the image of their PAP masters !!! As an "independent" blog started at the grassroots levels, TOC is the very first to lend support to PM Lee's new "initiative" to "liberalize" politics thereby legitimatizing it. ST is super keen to promote TOC as an "acceptable" political blog for Singaporeans to visit. Notice how Mr Brown was SLAMMED by the state media and contrast it with the preferential treatment of TOC.
This is subtle propaganda at work ! By promoting TOC constantly to the wider audience, the ST hopes to uphold TOC as a flag-bearer for political blogs. Of course we all know there is nothing political about TOC - all it does is to recycle hogwash brainlessly without any analysis or stance. The PAP is so much cleverer than the BN government in Malaysia. Instead of arresting bloggers, they plant a MOLE amongst us to mislead and deceive !!!
