A security guard at a condominium caught a couple having sex on a staircase landing and lied to them about having caught them on camera in order to extort them of $1000.
Nagindran Dharmiah, 32, had taken the money as “compensation” in return for destroying his “video evidence”.
The incident happened on March 31[SUP]st[/SUP] last year at a condominium in the East. Nagindran had caught the two, both aged 19, and found that the boy was not a resident of the condo. Nagindran said the boy was trespassing and lied telling them that he had been told by his supervisor to bring them to the guardhouse.
He also said that he would call the young couple’s parents.
The couple pleaded with him and asked him to let them off. In response, Nagindran suggested destroying the evident in exchange for money.
In actual fact, there is no camera there and Nagindran had bluffed the couple by showing them his clocking device used to track his shifts claiming that it could play back the video if it was plugged into the CCTV.

Nagindran, who is a Malaysian with Singapore PR, had also taken the boy’s phone as collateral to ensure that the money would be paid.
He was later caught after the woman reported the matter to the police when he called her the next day and demanded another $850.
Police arrested him when he came to meet the girl to retrieve an extra $850.
Nagindran pleaded guilty to 2 counts of cheating and was jailed 2 months. He could have been jailed for 10 years and fined for each count of cheating.
