Why did Chiang Chie Foo retire? surely must have some inside story.....

Mr Chiang Chie Foo, 56, Permanent Secretary of MINDEF, will retire from the Administrative Service on 1 September 2013 after 32 years of service in the public sector.

Mr Chiang will be succeeded by Mr Chan Yeng Kit, 48, who is the second Permanent Secretary (Defence Development) of MINDEF.

Mr Chiang will however continue to serve in the the public sector as Chairman of Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board. He was appointed to CPF Board only two weeks ago on 1 July.

So what is the inside story to this? Why is this senior guy moved aside? Come on.... come clean......

Under the PAP, when a PS is said to be retiring from the Admin Service, it's not a bad thing because he would then take on a very cushy job with super high pay and all the perks in one of the GLCs. In fact that's what all PS are aiming for. And that's what all the GLCs are for, a final resting place for these PS if u will. Rest assured that the PAP really knows how to take care of its own kind.
 
He retires as Perm Sec ...he gets at least $100k a month for the rest of his life. He is also the CPF Chairman ....that gives him another tidy pay cheque. If he stays on, he only gets one pay cheque. Why shouldn't he retire?

More of our tax dollars used to feed these parasites!

that's violating ethics. All I will say the girl is taller than daddy. Loves buying on branded goods--never will touch HDB clothes.

Again, have to "thank" daddy for her allowance.
