People who enthusiastically associate themselves with the PAP usually do it for some gain: free food, freebies, business connections, media exposure, web traffic etc.
Everybody seeks out his or her own happiness, that should be obvious. That special bunch delights in base, material gains to the exclusion of everything else, including principles... they're stuck at the bottom of Maslow's hierarchy of needs.

If anything, it proves that SDP improve your knowledge of current affairs. If you're a JC student, it's not too late to start reading SDP articles and get yourself well prepared for GP exams papers. You no longer have to memorize 10-year series and model answers, contents of which you don't understand, or you understand but you don't necessarily agree, just to score points.

Amos is certainly intelligent. You do not have to be a scholar to be intelligent. He may be a crazy kid with the energy and affability to talk about homosexuality and Little India riot in an amusing way but he has made his point to stir political consciousness of other youths in his age group.
