'Politics is a contest for power but the key principle when you have power is, don't take advantage of people under your charge, and always be honest and upfront with them. And always be honest and upfront with your people. All of us make mistakes. When a mistake is made, just come clean and say so. But do not cover up. That is why I have not let this go.' - Vivian Balakrishnan

Who was VB really ranting against? Was he saying that LTK had misused his power and 'take(n) advantage of people under (his) charge'? If so, who were the people LTK had charge of and taken advantage of? SL? PS? The hawkers? And if he were accusing LTK of misuse of power here, how did it square with his declaration that LTK was an 'honourable man' half a breath later?

So was he referring obliquely to some other people? Was he in fact suggesting that powerful people above him had taken advantage of him by making him flog a dead horse with a limp 'dossier', and in so doing, ruled out any chance of an elegant exit for him?

And was he also angry that once again, the PAPzis had trained an Indian MP at WP, so as to give the impression that WP is always attacking Indians? Remember the other idiots, Vikram (Nigerian scam) Nair and Hri (pay your way out of NS) Kumar?

VB might be a bit of an ivory tower politician but he ain't dumb. He must know about the futility of this Battle of the Bulge type counter-offensive. And he must know about the creative ways in which the alternative media will make him look stupid. So, that he had done this must have been a response to a no questions asked directive from LHL to protect the untouchables, KBW, NEH, LSS and TCH at VB's expense.

poor guy is clutching at every straw. he should never have joined the MIW. he is turning into something even he would not tolerate in his younger days.

Who he was ranting against, and whether justified or not is not the issue. That he deemed it fit to approach the matter in the manner he did is a reflection of mind of that man - small-minded, vindictive, not aware of the situation, as in, the parliamentary chambers are not meant for such trifles and personal vendettas. His colleagues were embarassed by him. Indranee's expression throughout the drama was priceless. Shanmuggam had to stand up and remind everyone in the house that the house was for debating the issues, focus on the issues, and do not politicise the issue. The PM, DPMs did not deem it fit to support him. If anything, screen shots showed their body language to be one of discomfort.

Halimah lost the plot, did not do her job, not even the basics of telling VB to address her, and not SL when responding to arguments.

How about: "knock it down, sit up position change, push up position change, change, change, change!"

BTW, has the 'damning' dossier been published on the PAPzi site or VB's facebook page? Surely if it were that damning, it would have been all over the place by now.
