SINGAPORE - When she was young, Ms Tan Wei Ling explored many good food places with her parents, who had worked in the food and beverage industry.
Even though they have switched careers, food still plays a big part in their lives. It is also a reason why Ms Tan, 19, enrolled in a hospitality operations Nitec course at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE).
That proved to be the right decision as the first-year student at ITE College West emerged as top among 10 contestants who took part in the final round of a drink creation challenge held at the school in Choa Chu Kang on Thursday (Nov 19). She received a $500 cash prize.
