Quoting Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong, who in 2011 said, “Politics is not a job or a career promotion, it is a calling to serve the larger good of Singapore”, Ms Aruldoss said that this clearly signifies that monetary gain is not the driving force behind good politicians entering politics. She added that this is further substantiated by the conspicuous absence of private-sector candidates in the 2011 General Elections.

“So, did the government increase salary because they could or was there good reason to do so?”, she asks.

She also questioned the identity of the members of the salary review commission, whose names, apart from their head (Mr Gerard Ee, of National Kidney foundation), have not been revealed. “Who chose these eight members?”

One of the persons sitting in the Review Committee is Mr Wong Ngit Leong, current CEO of Venture Corporation. I'm not sure about the remaining members but I believe their names were published in one of the media.
They're probably busy arranging for members of their family to take a holiday elsewhere before releasing the much awaited salary review. I bet my house it will be no more than 25% in absolute dollar terms.

The real 8 are LKY lhl HC lhy MBA cow gct tch. Sinkees Siao Liao.
