what suggestions you guys have ?

i'm looking for an affordable water filter, hopefully no need to change the filter cartridge so often since they quite expensive and can filter out Fluoride.

choices i've looked into include :

1) Hyflux Gurgle tap filter but it seems to be a very simple but overpriced filter.

2) Novita water dispenser which is expensive but seems to filter out a lot of stuff

3) Instapure tap filter which is cheapest if ordered online

any good lobangs ?

Wasn't there some simiLiar topics here before ?..

There seems to be a number of "resident experts" hailing from different fields of expertise in the Thailand thread.

卧虎藏龙 deh !

Hi TS, I am using espring in one of my office. How it works is it has a lever. You can switched between filtered and non-filtered output so you can prolong the filter cartridges.
I am not sure it can filter flouride but you can google espring filter. I have drank the filtered water straight from the tap and it taste as good as bottled drinking water.

If you don't mind an american product you can consider a General Ecology water purifier. For those not familiar with this brand they have been around for 30+ years. One of their popular units the Seagull IV X-1F Purifier with Faucet has a case made of surgical steel. The cartridge & case is very compact. You can see a picture of the unit here http://generalecology.com/category/in-home

Sporeans who own the unit tell me that they are using the original cartridge for 3+ years, that's because the water in Spore is pretty good. When it's time to replace the cartridge the flow of water will slow down to a trickle & many have not seen that happen even after 3+ years:)

For Spore you will have to contact the agent in KL:
Health Basics S/B,
Suite 163-0-6, Ground Floor, Wisma Mah Sing, Jalan Sungai Besi, 57100 Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA.
Attention Jeffrey Choi, Phone: 60-3-9222-8833, Fax: 60-3-922 26 888 and Email: [email protected]. Mr. Choi’s territory also covers Singapore.

The home unit comes with a diverter. So you have the option of by-passing the water purifier when you don't want to use the water purifier i.e. it comes with a tiny switch.
