August 1965 - a neighbour came to my house to inform the family that Singapore has left Malaysia.
I went: "Huh?"
Chey.... I thought something more important had happened - like the Quests coming out with a new album or the Beatles were coming to Singapore..... LKY crying on TV? chey... who cares? Not a kid like me who had just discovered the Hit Parade which aired over the Radio every saturday at noon with Bernard Solosa at the helm....... super !!!

:)

Were you part of the 60s music scene?

Which were your favourite groups?

They don't make music like these anymore..... agree?

In those early days TV was very expensive & that's why people would go to the community centres to watch TV.

he was visiting the CC, and i shake hand with him, did not know he was a smiling tiger back then.....i have been infected with his virus of watching out for yourself is a zero game.
