The police were unable to assist a woman who was harrassed via obscene text messages.

Frustrated, the woman resorted to reporting the incident on citizen journalism website Stomp.

The woman, who did not want to give her real name, said: "I received text messages that contained explicit language from this sender one day.

"Despite being warned to stop, the sender still continued to send dirty messages asking to meet up."

She reported the matter to the police because the sender said he knew where her workplace was, and would look for her.

The police told her the incident was a "non-arrestable crime" and were unable to conduct any investigations.

She said: "Do the police have to wait until there are serious consequences before starting the investigation? By then, it will be too late."

She also warned other women not to entertain this kind of behaviour.

Some netizens who read her story were unsympathetic, saying that she should not have responded to the sender's messages, while others said that she should consult her telco about blocking the sender's phone number.

the police in charge probably thought she is too ugly to be of any harm . If is a chiobu police would have taken action .
