A long time friend returned to Singapore and commented he cannot find any anchor beer anymore. What has happened to this Singapore brand?

Also same friend says that raffles beer that u get in duty free is only available in the airport and nowhere else. True or false?

Some place selling it. Giant , Shop N Save only certain period of the time and some coffeeshop.

lianbeng says, the Anchor stops moving and the ship sank very long ago liao.:D

Not sure about kpts. Night spots is always Tiger, Carlsberg and Fosters. Heineken has its supporters too. Fosters offer the best terms and conditions. They are fighting hard for market share.

You can find Anchor Beer in Shing Shiong and Shop N Save - $1.95 a can. Personally I prefer Anchor to Tiger.

Try Miller Light or Coors

Not sure if you have it in Singapore but they are the popular ones in U.S. together with Bud

Of these only Bud is available in Peesai.

Coors was made popular by the movie Smokey and the Bandit; it was not allowed in many States in the US because it wasn't pastuerized (then?) and made with Rocky Mountain water - that gave its appeal, and hence outside Colorado, it was smuggled - otherwise an ordinary beer. I like Bud.

Light Beer, Miller or others is just a waste of time, lacks flavor.

Other than mundane US mainstream beers, US microbreweries offer more taste.

Cheers!

Anchor still available. Priced better than Tiger. Drinking one right now.

True - I think.

Cheers!

Anchor is still around. Sometimes I buy Anchor Smooth long can from 7-11. Cheap and good. :) The bottled form somehow has disappeared from coffeeshops decades ago, displaced by Tiger and Carlsberg.

When I was in US, Miller was my preferred beer. It's better than Budweiser, though Bud is has always been better marketed and better selling. I don't think Miller's available in Singapore, but Bud certainly is.

ANCHOR BEER has migrated to cambodia. it's now their national beer. anchor and tiger is actually similar packaged with different brand names by ASIA BREWERY.
