many think that it's a case of too many cooks spoil the broth.

but to be honest, all these minister's salaries are like m.s.g or monosodium glutamate added into broth by too many cooks and claim that it's a good tonic soup except that after citizens slurp it, they end up with tight throats and a terrible migraine :( definitely it isn't anything tonic but everything toxic and that's why there are so many msg reasoning to backup their "wonder" broth by so many higly paid cooks.

i think all these arguments and trying to convince the nation about their well-deserved pays are just laden with MSG.

what other flavors can u think otherwise?

an appropriate n auspicious title to this national broth in chinese:

百万大毒汤 or the MILLION$ TOXIC SOUP

do u ve this tight-throaty feeling and gradual aggravating migraine everytime u read about this national soup?

One very good reason is anti-corruption. For corruption to happen, one must be able to pay at least 2 times or more for a package attractive enough to trigger off some moonlighting. We do not want corruption in Singapore, do we?

What is enough? It is public service. Not corporate service that we are talking about. They are paying themselves fat paychecks to "disincentivise" corruption???Big joke that is.

it's the same pap's pattern all along. they want it; they get it....whether the citizens like it or not, they shall have it. confirmed and double confirmed!

then why waste so much time setting up a wayanging opera performance to convince (or con). just go ahead. DO IT! HAVE IT! we shall GET OVER IT!

as usual. pap's style. what else?

politic in sg has taken such a drastic twist. it's such a sad revelation and proven that everything is all about money and more money :(

passion to serve is now equate to money. sacrifices also = money. next time when i volunteer anything, i better demand for money cos make alot of sacrifices too.

kek sim! is this the typical people representatives suppose to arrive at?

there are 2 types of politics in sg. one that u glorify (or nicely put it as sacrifice) to be millionaire politician. the other would be u sacrifice (or bluntly put it as glorify) to be a bankrupt. passion to serve is now a secondary. it all depend on the sacrifice for a tempting glorifying pay.

seem that our once tonic national soup is turning toxic and soon becoming rancid. no amount of m$g added would be able to mask it's nauseating true essence.

well, it'd ve to take another 5 yrs to change the ingredients of the soup. hopefully, the ingredients would be organic and as natural as possible.

till then, the nation just have to feed on toxic soup conjured by too many c(r)ooks spoiling the broth.
